Washington, D.C. – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) is currently accepting applications for the 2019-2020 Third District Youth Advisory Council and encourages rising juniors and seniors to submit their applications by June 28.

The Third District Youth Advisory Council is a forum for high school juniors and seniors to share opinions, thoughts, and concerns with Congressman Smith about local and federal issues throughout the school year. This group provides students the opportunity to discuss the concerns of young Nebraskans and give their input on issues facing our country.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Reps. Adrian Smith (NE-03) and Terri Sewell (AL-07) have introduced the Revitalizing Underdeveloped Rural Areas and Lands (RURAL) Act, bipartisan legislation which would help preserve jobs and encourage infrastructure development by ensuring tax-exempt electric cooperative organizations' continued access to government grants and assistance, including rural broadband grants and FEMA disaster relief.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Nebraska congressional delegation has introduced legislation to provide tax relief for Nebraskans impacted by the severe 2019 storms and flooding. The bill, known as the Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2019, would deliver tax relief to areas that received a federal disaster declaration between January 1, 2019 and April 15, 2019.

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) released the following statement after Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee on Wednesday requested the president's tax returns from the IRS.

Statement from Smith:

"I strongly oppose efforts by congressional Democrats to request and release President Trump's tax returns. While the Ways and Means Committee, on which I serve, has the authority to request individual returns, this action cannot be construed as part of any legitimate investigation and is therefore an abuse of power."

Washington, D.C. – Constituents of Third District Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) are invited to meet with a representative of his office at mobile offices throughout the month of April in Neligh, Hildreth, Alma, McCook, Fullerton, Central City, Elwood, Nelson, North Platte, and Falls City.

At mobile offices, Third District residents can meet directly with one of Smith's staff members about federal issues and take advantage of the services available through his office.
