Today Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) and Congressman John B. Larson (D-CT) announced they are leading the Tax Reform Working Group on Financial Services. The group is one of eleven bipartisan groups established by the House Committee on Ways and Means to inform its work on comprehensive tax reform. Smith and Larson will work together to review current financial services tax law and will report back to the Committee after compiling data and information from a wide range of sources.

Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) is encouraging high school students in Nebraska’s Third District to submit their artwork for the 2013 Congressional Art Competition by Friday, February 15, 2013.

“I am proud of the efforts and talents of all of the students who have participated in the Congressional Art Competition in previous years,” said Smith. “I hope more students will take advantage of this opportunity so the Third District can continue to share exceptional works of art with visitors to the U.S. Capitol from around the world.”

The Nebraska Breakfast will kick-off its 70th year Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, in Washington, D.C. It is an opportunity for Nebraskans visiting Washington to speak informally with the state’s Congressional delegation.
The Nebraska Breakfast was started by Senator Hugh Butler in 1943 and is the longest-running state gathering of elected officials and constituents on Capitol Hill.
