The bipartisan agreement to fund the federal government which was reached on Friday, April 8 immediately cuts spending and provides a broader framework for even greater cuts for the remainder of the fiscal year.

The White House spent last week describing President Obama's budget as historic. Unfortunately, his proposal was neither inspiring nor compelling, and as a result, it was met with bipartisan opposition.

Recently, President Barack Obama fulfilled his duty as outlined by the Constitution and presented his State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress.

It happens every two year. Another session of Congress is sworn-in. Sometimes the majority party retains control. Sometimes, like this year, the previous minority party wins enough seats to retake the majority.

Americans sent an unmistakable message last month: Washington needs to cut spending and steward taxpayer dollars in a fiscally responsible manner.
