The Obama administration just finalized its fiduciary rule, an overbearing regulation which would hinder access to financial advice for nearly seven million Americans and create new hardships for small business owners. Unfortunately, the fiduciary rule is only the tip of the regulatory iceberg.

American leadership is deeply needed to quell the chaos in our world today. We cannot afford continued weakness.

The budget and appropriations processes are fundamental responsibilities of Congress, and I am ready to continue our work to cut spending and put our country on a more sustainable course.

The tireless work of our farmers, ranchers, and value-added and support industries has made Nebraska’s Third District the number one agriculture district in the country.

With the death of Nancy Reagan, America mourns the loss of yet another champion of conservatism. This exemplary First Lady and her husband, President Ronald Reagan, inspired the world through their love and devotion to one another and to their country.

Whether I am talking with high school seniors, parents of college students, or recent graduates starting to repay their student loans, many Nebraskans express concerns to me about the rising costs of higher education.

One of the most beneficial steps we can take to grow our economy is to reform our broken, outdated tax code. International tax reform is an important part of this overhaul to make the United States a more competitive place to invest and create jobs.

It is important for Third District students to feel connected to their government, and their feedback is invaluable. I hope young Nebraskans will take advantage of the opportunities available through my office and actively engage with me about their ideas for America’s future.
