Over the past few weeks, House Republicans have focused on laying out a roadmap called A Better Way. This agenda outlines our policy proposals for creating greater opportunity for all Americans, reducing the size of government, and strengthening our country.

We are working on many pressing issues in Congress, but one of the most important aspects of my role as your representative is helping Nebraskans navigate the federal government and ensuring they receive the assistance they need.

Tens of thousands of Nebraskans lost their health insurance at the end of 2014 when CoOportunity Health, the Obamacare Consumer Operated and Oriented Plan (co-op) in Nebraska and Iowa, announced it was facing liquidation. On May 26, Ohio’s InHealth Mutual became the latest co-op failure, leaving 22,000 Ohioans suddenly without coverage.

Much of our time in Congress is spent fighting overreach by the executive branch. In fact, a study just released by the Heritage Foundation found 20,642 new regulations have been added throughout the Obama presidency.

Memorial Day is a dedicated time for us to honor those who gave their lives in defense of our great country. Mindful of their memory, our nation must keep its commitment to all who serve and have served by ensuring our military is fully prepared to confront the threats in our world today.
