As Nebraska’s economy continues to grow and unemployment remains low, the national economy is another story.

The Constitution of the United States established three separate but equal branches of government. However, for some time the Executive Branch, under administrations of both parties, has been growing beyond its constitutional authority.

Earlier this year, I announced my Regulation Rewind project with the goal of identifying and addressing government-imposed burdens on the Third District.

Last week, the House of Representatives passed a budget plan which honestly accounts for the federal government’s spending, proposes solutions to balance the budget in 10 years, and grow our economy.

As I travel through the Third District, Nebraskans often tell me about how their lives and their businesses are negatively impacted by unnecessary federal regulations.

Everyone agrees our federal tax code is complicated, outdated, uncompetitive, and too often favors the politically well-connected. By simplifying the code we can improve compliance, encourage economic growth, and make our tax structure fairer for all Americans.
