Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE), released the following statement after United States Postmaster General Louis DeJoy agreed to delay the planned changes to operations at the North Platte, NE Mail Processing and Distribution Center until January 1, 2025.

President Biden’s executive actions don’t just ignore congressional intent; they are expensive, unwise, and unworkable.

Adrian Smith (R-NE), released the following statement after the United States Postal Service (USPS) announced it will transfer operations of the North Platte, NE Mail Processing and Distribution Center to Denver, CO and convert the North Platte facility to a Local Processing Center.
The historic tornadoes which pummeled the eastern and central portions of our state last week were devastating, and supporting the ongoing recovery efforts for Nebraskans remains top of mind. The Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has reported damage to homes, farm equipment and buildings, power lines, other infrastructure, vehicles, and trees across many counties in the Third District. Fortunately, despite the destruction of hundreds of homes, no Nebraskans lost their lives.

Washington, D.C. - Today, the office of Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE) announced the process for Third District communities and public entities to apply for Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Community Project Funding (CPF). Applications must be submitted by 1:00 PM CDT/12:00 PM MDT on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
FY25 funding is limited and not all eligible requests will be funded.
