WASHINGTON, DC- Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE), co-chair of the House Rural Veterans Caucus, today expressed his disappointment after learning the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) plans to close the VA clinic in Alliance. In August, Smith sent a letter to VA Secretary Eric Shinseki outlining his support for the Alliance clinic and urging the Secretary to take into account the circumstances facing veterans who live in rural areas.

WASHINGTON, DC- Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today released the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced its decision to allow E15 in cars manufactured after 2007. A decision on cars manufactured between 2001 and 2006 is expected by the end of the year.
"The current 10 percent ethanol-gasoline blending cap threatens to restrict developing America's ethanol infrastructure and capacity to meet the Renewable Fuels Standard. More must be done to put the choice in the hands of consumers.
