Despite the growing global dangers to our country, President Obama has chosen to negotiate with nations which have openly threatened America and our allies.

The legislation passed by the House this week will allow us to continue our work on tax reform while seeking a multi-year highway funding plan. I am pleased the House took action to prevent the lapse of ongoing infrastructure projects and hope the Senate will join us in advancing this short-term bill to pave the way for a long-term highway funding solution.

We have now successfully shifted the conversation in Washington from how much to spend to how much to cut. These decisions certainly are not easy, but there is an immense amount of work to do to bring our country's deficit under control.

This week, the Supreme Court issued its highly anticipated ruling in King v. Burwell. Americans have awaited the Court’s decision for months, and many hoped this case could serve as a needed check on the Obama administration’s health care overreach. Unfortunately, the Court dealt a setback to both the rule of law and the American people by ruling in favor of the administration.

There is a lot of misinformation going around about TPA, but here’s a fact: if we do not pass TPA now, we will not only sacrifice America’s opportunity to set the rules of the global marketplace, but we will also miss a rare window to bring accountability to an administration which has too often refused to acknowledge it.
