This summer, a travelling memorial called “Remembering Our Fallen” will make its trek across Nebraska. This 60-foot long tribute to Heartland soldiers who have been killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is a poignant reminder of the high cost of freedom.
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE), Co-Chair of the Rural Veterans Caucus, today sent a second letter to the Director of the VA Black Hills Health Care System, Stephen DiStasio, calling for the VA to allow more time to review a proposed reduction in services at their Hot Springs, SD facility.
Our military is the finest fighting force for freedom and security the world has ever known and every last one of them is a volunteer. When the call to arms was sounded, it was they who stepped forward and said, “Send me.” Nebraska is home to more than 150,000 veterans. These heroes have put everything at risk to defend our freedoms.
