As North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un issues more threats against the United States, President Trump’s executive order targeting North Korea’s trading partners is a meaningful step to ramp up the pressure on this dangerous regime.

My hope is everyone will have taken time on Memorial Day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice so we can live freely in America – and not lose sight of our gratitude to these brave men and women throughout the year.

In January, our country welcomed home four Americans who had been imprisoned in Iran. At the time, the Obama administration touted its nuclear deal with Iran as a diplomatic victory which opened the door for the prisoners’ release. Eight months later, we are getting a much different picture of the situation.

While Nebraska farmers and ranchers dedicate themselves daily to producing high-quality food, ideologically-motivated activists are working to take meat off the menu in institutions across the country.

Memorial Day is a dedicated time for us to honor those who gave their lives in defense of our great country. Mindful of their memory, our nation must keep its commitment to all who serve and have served by ensuring our military is fully prepared to confront the threats in our world today.
