Smith Thanks Summer Interns for Public Service

August 20, 2015

Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) released the following statement today in recognition of 2015 summer interns Colin Snider of Kearney, Tom Waldo of DeWitt, and Jack Heaphy of Fort Salonga, New York. During their internship, they assisted in a variety of tasks in Smith’s Washington, D.C. office including research, guiding Nebraskans on Capitol tours, processing flag requests, assisting with constituent correspondence, and attending meetings and briefings with Smith and staff members.

“Colin, Tom, and Jack chose to devote their summer vacations to serving the people of Nebraska’s Third District,” Smith said. “My staff and I are grateful for their hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication. It was a pleasure getting to know them during their time in our nation’s capital, and it is clear each one has a bright future ahead.”

Snider will begin his senior year at Brigham Young University, where he is studying economics. Waldo will be a sophomore at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and is majoring in agricultural economics. Heaphy is returning to Liberty University for his junior year studying business administration.
