Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) released the following statement today to recognize the interns who have served the Third District throughout 2016: Jayme Krejci of St. Paul, Isaac Liberman of Kearney, Marilyn Synek of Kearney, and Colton Schaardt of Steinauer.

During their internships, the students assisted in a variety of tasks in Smith’s Washington, D.C., and Grand Island offices including research, taking calls, guiding Nebraskans on Capitol tours, processing flag requests, assisting with constituent correspondence, and attending meetings and briefings.

“Jayme, Isaac, Marilyn, and Colton dedicated significant time this year to serving the people of the Third District, and my staff and I are grateful for their efforts,” Smith said. “These talented young Nebraskans will have a great impact on our state and country as they continue to grow in their leadership and professional abilities.”

Krejci is a junior at Wayne State College majoring in political science and minoring in public administration, pre-law, and public health.

Liberman is a junior at George Washington University in D.C., where he studies business and finance.

Synek is in her junior year at the University of Nebraska-Kearney majoring in political science and multimedia.

Schaardt spent two years at Southeast Community College in the agriculture business and management technology program and plans to transfer to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study agriculture economics and public policy.
