Smith Statement on Tax Hike Legislation

December 2, 2010

WASHINGTON, DC- U.S. Representative Adrian Smith (R-NE) today released the following statement after the House of Representatives pushed through an attempt to prevent only some of the $3.8 trillion tax increases slated to go into effect on January 1st. Smith joined with 167 Republicans and 20 Democrats in opposition to the legislation.

"Raising taxes on Americans will only create more challenges for the employers and entrepreneurs who are the job creators our economy needs. The last thing we should be doing is pushing through this type of job-killing tax hike on small businesses," Smith said.
