Smith Statement on South Korea Trade Deal
December 3, 2010
WASHINGTON, DC- Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today released the following statement regarding negotiators from the U.S. and South Korea reaching a deal on a trade agreement, potentially moving forward an issue which has been stalled since 2007:
"This is very encouraging news. The trade agreement with South Korea has gathered dust for too long and the U.S. has suffered from a lack of action. With tensions rising in East Asia, strong economic political ties are more important than ever. There are still steps which need to be taken, but this is an important opportunity to realize significant new market access for America's manufacturers, farmers, and ranchers," Smith said.
