Smith Statement on Retirement of John Cook and Hiring of Dani Busboom Kelly

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE), released the following statement after Nebraska Volleyball coach John Cook announced his retirement and Third District native, Dani Busboom Kelly was named as the new head coach.

"A quarter century ago John Cook took over a successful program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and took it to unprecedented heights--not only for the team, not just for volleyball, but for women's sports globally. Thank you, Coach Cook, for your dedication and integrity. Your standard of excellence will always mean so much to the people of our great state.
