Smith Statement on President Obama’s Speech to Joint Session of Congress
September 9, 2011
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today issued the following statement in reaction to President Obama’s speech to the Joint Session of Congress.
"The President hints at his willingness to reform the tax code, pass pending trade agreements, and reduce the regulatory burden on job creators, but hinting does not provide the certainty and stability needed for economic growth," Smith said. "I’m saddened the President continues to advocate for failed stimulus-like policies, which evidence shows will not work. The solution lies not in expanding government, but in creating an environment where Americans see more opportunity through job creation."
