Smith Sponsors Resolution Designating National FFA Week
Washington, DC – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) joined a bipartisan group of colleagues in cosponsoring a resolution celebrating National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Week as the week of February 20-27, 2021. The resolution recognizes the important role of the National FFA Organization in providing educational and career opportunities to students. The resolution celebrates more than 50 years of National FFA Alumni and Supporters with more than 8 million alumni worldwide and more than 760,000 members across the United States.
"The FFA encourages young Nebraskans to get involved in the agriculture community," said Rep. Smith. "I am glad to support legislation designating a National FFA week and recognize the 50 years of opportunities the association has provided to producers of all ages from across the Third District and the country."
The Nebraska FFA Association was the sixth state chartered by the National FFA Organization when it was founded in 1928. Each year, the State FFA Convention hosts members, advisors, parents, and guests to participate in activities such as workshops, sessions, Career Fair & Expo, leadership academy, interviews, Leadership Development Events, and Career Development Events. The Nebraska FFA has a current membership of over 9,000 members in 189 chapters.
