Smith Meets with Postmaster General
March 7, 2013
Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) issued the following statement after meeting with Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe:
“I appreciate the Postmaster General taking time to meet about the future of the Postal Service and issues of concern to Nebraska and rural Americans. USPS needs flexibility to address its enormous fiscal challenges, but cuts in service should not be aimed disproportionately at rural mail services. I hope the lines of communication will remain open, and USPS will consider the needs of small communities as it works to balance its budget.”
