Smith Hosts International Trade Event

July 1, 2011

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE), who serves on the Committee on Ways and Means and its Subcommittee on Trade, today hosted Export 2011 in Grand Island. Businesses, both large and small, sent representatives to learn about the benefits of international trade.

"Global trade represents a tremendous opportunity to boost economic growth for our nation and Nebraska," Smith said. "Exports must be an integral part of our economic recovery, and I want to help Nebraskans take advantage of this opportunity. I hope those who attended are walking away excited about the positive impact of trade and with the knowledge and connections needed to succeed."

Export 2011 featured speakers from select federal agencies as well as exporters from the Third District. Topics at the seminar included competing in the global marketplace, economic analysis of trade, barriers to trade, and doing business in China.
