Smith to Hold Annual Academy Day in Grand Island Saturday

Washington, DC – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) will host his annual Academy Day event on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Grand Island Army Aviation Support Center. The event will take place from 10am to 2pm and will feature representatives from each U.S. Service Academy and various ROTC programs.

“Throughout our nation’s history, U.S. Service Academies have played an important role in preparing young people for service to our country,” said Smith. “Nebraska never has been short of patriotic young men and women willing to step forward and answer the call of duty. It is my honor to help them take advantage of the opportunities provided by these institutions because preparing tomorrow's generation of leaders is critical to our success in the future.”
