Smith Hails Passage of Responsible, Honest Budget Resolution

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today issued the following statement in reaction to the passage of H.Con.Res. 34, the Budget Resolution introduced by Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI).

"With the passage of Paul Ryan's budget, we took another step forward on the long road to restore opportunity for future generations who deserve a life free from a debt they did not create. Just like families do every month, it is time for government to tighten its belt and balance its budget.

"Our responsibility to the American people is to keep working together to tackle the big problems we face today or face bigger problems tomorrow. I look forward to continuing the honest conversation about the difficult decisions we must make to lift our crushing burden of debt."
