Smith Encourages Nebraskans to Speak Out on Hot Springs VA Facility

Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) is encouraging Nebraskans to speak out about the proposed closure of the Veterans Administration (VA) Hospital in Hot Springs, South Dakota. After receiving a letter from Smith and other members of Congress from the region, the VA announced an extension of the public comment period through August 16, 2014. The VA also plans to hold a series of public meetings including three in Nebraska’s Third District.

“I am pleased the Veterans Administration has agreed to our request to extend the comment period regarding the Hot Springs VA facility, and will hold public meetings in the Third District,” said Congressman Smith. “Many veterans in Nebraska want to continue to receive care at the Hot Springs facility and I hope Nebraskans will take advantage of this opportunity to have their voices heard.”
