Smith Commends Chairman Gallagher, Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi for China Report

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Adrian Smith (R-NE), Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee’s Trade Subcommittee, released the following statement after the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party released their bipartisan report.

“I commend Chairman Gallagher and Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi for their work on this extensive report,” said Subcommittee Chairman Smith. “I strongly support the development of a cohesive strategy to ensure American leadership combats CCP influence around the world. The report includes some interesting recommendations and – as the Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee Chairman – I look forward to working with members of the Select Committee on policies to support American jobs and job creators, foster American leadership around the world, and use the tools at our disposal to responsibly hold China accountable.”
