Smith Announces Congressional App Challenge Judges

December 9, 2015

Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) announced today Andrew Bartow, Nick Colton, and Angela Hollman will serve as Third District judges for the 2015 Congressional App Challenge.

Bartow, a Scottsbluff High School graduate, is currently pursuing a degree in computer science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In addition to his studies at MIT, Bartow worked this year as a mobile developer for the popular messaging app Snapchat. While in high school, Bartow developed an app which aided in locating lost or stolen smartphones, receiving thousands of downloads.

Colton is a 15-year veteran of the communications and technology industry, and serves as the director of network operations for ALLO Communications in Imperial. In this role, Colton directs ALLO’s network operations and engineering, including network infrastructure and project management functions.

Hollman is an assistant professor in industrial technology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), where her courses include telecommunications literacy, network architecture and telecommunications, internetworking design, and global internetworking.

The Congressional App Challenge is open to all high school students who live in – or are eligible to attend public schools located in – Nebraska’s Third Congressional District. The winning app in each participating congressional district will be featured on the U.S. House of Representatives’ website and displayed in a U.S. Capitol exhibit.
