Rep. Smith Joins General Aviation Caucus

February 10, 2011

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today joined the General Aviation Caucus for the 112th Congress.

"Businesses and communities across the Third District rely on general aviation and other small aircraft as a critical resource to meet our transportation needs," Smith said. "Whether it is mobility, medical transport, disaster relief, or economic output, general aviation aircraft are vital to our rural communities. I am proud to once again join this caucus to support such an important economic driver and segment of our transportation system."

The State of Nebraska has 84 airports serving 5,348 pilots and 2,756 general aviation aircraft. General aviation generates $721 million annually in economic development for Nebraska while providing 5,250 jobs.
