Cutting Runaway Spending Must Be the Solution
Washington, D.C. - Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today issued the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 2560, the Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011, which passed the U.S. House of Representatives.
"Out-of-control government spending is the problem, and cutting Washington spending must be the solution," Smith said. "This legislation would put measures in place to ensure real spending reforms are met to restore much-needed certainty to our economy. Getting our fiscal house in order is not only achievable, it is imperative to ensure future generations have the same opportunities as those of the past."
The Cut, Cap, and Balance Act of 2011 would enact immediate spending cuts, enforce spending caps, and require a Balanced Budget Amendment.
