Bringing Tools and Resources to Your Fingertips

Every day, I go to work in Congress with a simple goal: to help make life a little better for Nebraska’s families by working to solve problems, strengthen our communities, and create opportunities for the next generation.

Nearly 250 years ago, our Founders established a nation built on freedom, opportunity, and the belief every American should have the chance to succeed. But imagine if the rights they secured had never been explained to the people they were intended to benefit. While those freedoms would have existed on paper, they would have had little impact on everyday lives.

The same principle applies today. Passing good legislation is important, but its success ultimately depends on whether people know how to access and use it.

Take Trump Accounts, for example. These new investment accounts have the potential to transform the financial future of millions of children and their families. With a one-time federal investment of $1,000, a child born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, can begin building long-term savings from day one. I understand how valuable this initial $1,000 federal investment will be to Nebraskans. Unfortunately, this investment is currently set to expire at the end of 2028, limiting its benefits to only a few years of eligible newborns.

That is why I introduced my Trump Accounts for All Generations Act. My legislation would make the $1,000 federal investment permanent so every future American newborn can receive the same opportunity when opening a Trump Account. It would also index the investment to inflation beginning in 2029, preserving its value and strengthening its impact for generations to come.

Trump Accounts provide a remarkable opportunity, but they only work if families know they exist and understand how to participate. For too long, navigating government programs has been complicated and time-consuming. Valuable resources can be difficult to find, and busy parents often do not have the time to search through pages of information to determine what benefits are available to them.

But for Trump Accounts, this will no longer be the case. Thanks to efforts by the Trump Administration, parents can now access the Trump Accounts app through major app stores, making it easier than ever to learn about the program and get started. The app serves as a one-stop resource where families can learn about eligibility and follow step-by-step instructions to open an account before they are able to formally start contributing on July 4, 2026. They will then be able to utilize the app to make additional contributions and track their investments over time.

Technology has put an unprecedented amount of information at our fingertips. The smartphones we carry every day can now help families take meaningful steps toward building financial security for their children. Just as our Founders understood Americans must clearly understand their rights to experience liberty, government programs must be accessible to achieve their intended purpose.

At the end of the day, the work we do in Washington only makes a difference when people can easily access the opportunities we create.
