Smith Votes to Repeal Obamacare

July 11, 2012
Press Release

Washington, DC – Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) issued the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 6079, the Repeal of Obamacare Act.

“Today, the House of Representatives voted to repeal an overreaching law which burdens job creators at a time of economic stagnation, raises taxes, reduces access to quality care, and injects more government red tape into personal health care decisions.

“I am proud to join a bipartisan majority in voting to overturn this law.  However, the House cannot do this job alone.  The Senate and President should join our efforts to start over and pass patient-centered reforms to reduce health care costs and expand access to care through market-based policies, not government mandates.”
